Alcantara Projects is led by Alistair Stephenson — based in Marbella since 2002, and involved in property and construction projects in southern Spain, primarily Marbella, Benahavís, Estepona, and Sotogrande, for more than twenty years. Alistair moved to Marbella in 2002 after graduating from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a BA (Hons) in International Business Management. A year at the Universidad de Deusto business school in San Sebastián, before the move to Marbella, gave him the fluent Spanish that has been central to his work ever since.
After several years working in the local real estate market, Alistair founded Alcantara Estates in 2004, which became one of the leading agencies for beachside property between San Pedro de Alcántara and Puerto Banús. That work brought him into close contact with the design, construction, and investment side of the market — and over time, project management became a defining part of what he does.
Alistair has been personally involved in private villa builds and renovations, development projects, and consultancy roles for a number of construction and investment companies. The work spans the full range — from a single private client building a family home, to investors developing properties for sale, to ongoing consultancy for established clients.
Clients tend to describe the same things: attention to detail, foresight, honesty, and the reassurance of having one person on the ground in Marbella who knows the market, speaks the language, and takes responsibility for the moving parts of the project. For clients building from abroad, that combination matters more than anything else.
Every project is led personally, from the first conversation to the final handover. Clients have one point of contact throughout, and the same person who agrees the brief is the one who sees it delivered.
